I ♥ rainy days

(credit) I love walking in the rain  | Irene Suchocki @ Etsy

I live in a very rainy part of North America — a veritable rainforest in the Pacific Northwest.  We whine and complain about the grey, downcast rainy days that incorrigably hamper us from September to June.  I personally dislike driving in rain — it’s slippery and hard to see especially at night, and crazy people drive like the roads aren’t slick. Maniacs.

Yet despite all the negatives about rain…I have to say that I do like the rain most of the time.  For one, the Pacific Northwest is lush and green with gorgeous fauna and flora because of the rain(forest).  Two, I get to wear my Hunter wellies.  Three, I like the smell of rain while walking around outdoors.   Four, it’s nice on Sunday mornings when you can laze about and curl up all cozy, and not feel guilty about staying inside all day.  Five, I enjoy running in the rain — it’s cooling and I don’t even mind being splashed by puddles.

And six, I like the sound of the rain bouncing off the windows and the roof, with their rhythmic pitter-patter.  On those days when it isn’t raining (mostly summer), I like to listen to the rain at RAINY MOOD.  I listen to the rainy soundtrack as background when I’m reading.

Apparently, listening to the rain helps you sleep better and relax.  Now, what I don’t quite understand is why the website says, “Add gentle rain to your environment” when you can hear thunder and lightening in the background and the rain is pouring down like a torrential storm.  Ha!

I love me some Etsy finds…and what better topic than rainy days! (under the cut)

Love does not consist of gazing at each other, but in looking outward together in the same direction.

Only once in your life, I truly believe, you find someone who can completely turn your world around.   You tell them things that you’ve never shared with another soul and they absorb everything you say and actually want to hear more.

You share hopes for the future, dreams that will never come true, goals that were never achieved, and the many disappointments life has thrown at you…

When something wonderful happens, you can’t wait to tell them about it, knowing they will share in your excitement.  They are not embarrassed to cry with you when you are hurting, or laugh with you when you make a fool of yourself.

Never do they hurt your feelings or make you feel like you are not good enough, but rather they build you up and show you the things about yourself that make you special and even beautiful…

There is never any pressure, jealousy or competition but only a quiet calmness when they are around.  You can be yourself and not worry about what they will think of you because they love you for who you are…

The things that seem insignificant to most people such as a note, song or walk become invaluable treasures kept safe in your heart to cherish forever.

Memories of your childhood come back and are so clear and vivid it’s like being young again.

Colours seem brighter and more brilliant.

Laughter seems part of daily life where before it was infrequent or didn’t exist at all.

A phone call or two during the day helps to get you through a long day’s work and always brings a smile to your face…

In their presence, there’s no need for continuous conversation, but you find you’re quite content in just having them nearby.

Things that never interested you before become fascinating because you know they are important to this person who is so special to you.

You think of this person on every occasion and in everything you do.

Simple things bring them to mind like a pale blue sky, gentle wind or even a storm cloud on the horizon…

You open your heart knowing that there’s a chance it may be broken one day, and in opening your heart, you experience a love and joy that you never dreamed possible.

You find that being vulnerable is the only way to allow your heart to feel true pleasure that’s so real it scares you.

You find strength in knowing you have a true friend and possibly a soulmate who will remain loyal to the end.

Life seems completely different, exciting and worthwhile.  Your only hope and security is in knowing that they are a part of your life.

♫ Money | Matt Morris

Cash Money Print | Orange Beautiful

Money matters when you’re broke, when you’re broke…

and money fixes for awhile.

If you got money in your wallet, you got permission

to enjoy yourself for awhile.

But money burns, money turns the very best into the worst criminal.

Money matters, money kills, money makes the world go ’round

Money ain’t the villain

Money…it’s greed that’s the killer

Money ain’t the villain

Money…it’s greed that’s the killer

Dollar bills buying pills giving thrills in the evening sunset light.

Middle seat in the back in between a couple of hooligans, sunset light.

Light them up, let them down, I’m going downtown to find some play tonight

Dollar bills give them thrills in the back of their best friend’s ride

Money ain’t the villain

Money…it’s greed that’s the killer

Money ain’t the villain

Money…it’s greed that’s the killer

Penny, quarter, nickel, and dime.

How you make change without money?

Penny, quarter, nickel and dime.

How you make change? Tell me how you make change without…

One has just to be oneself. That’s my basic message.

The moment you accept yourself as you are,

all burdens, all mountains simply disappear.

Then life is a sheer joy,

a festival of lights.
