PLAYLIST FOR RUNNING

This is not a cover of Coldplay’s “Yellow.” Rather it’s a sunshine-filled burst of happiness in a song. Yes, yellow is my favorite colour to boot. The lyrics are fanciful and make me smile. India.Arie is genius. Yay! Listen to it if you want a spring in your step!

OH YAH!
Natalie Nakase is über-cool, thankyouvermuch. What I do know about her is minimal. She’s been appointed as the first female coach of a men’s pro-basketball team in Japan (woo hoo!). She’s Nikkei like me, but American rather than Canadian. She was a point-guard during her college years at UCLA…a really, really good one at that. She played for the National Women’s Basketball League, and even trained with the WNBA. She was the head coach of a women’s basketball team in Germany. She used to be the assistant coach to the aforementioned pro-basketball men’s team in Japan, called the Saitama Broncos (Saitama is neighbour to Tokyo) and is now officially the team’s head coach.

The best thing about her? She kicks some basketball ass. Oh yeah, and did I mention that she’s only 5’2″! Alright, I love her.

♡ life’s not a paragraph

(credit) lollypop love | Lola & Wolf (Cassia Beck) @ etsy

since feeling is first

who pays any attention

to the syntax of things

will never wholly kiss you;

wholly to be a fool

while Spring is in the world

my blood approves,

and kisses are a far better fate

than wisdom

lady i swear by all flowers. Don’t cry

–the best gesture of my brain is less than

your eyelids’ flutter which says

we are for eachother: then

laugh, leaning back in my arms

for life’s not a paragraph

And death i think is no parenthesis

– e.e. cummings

♡ To be right-kissed

MUAH

In my dual cultures, kissing is not regulatory. It’s actually frowned upon. I mean in public. I do not live in Quebec, which I would say is the only exception. Where I live, we don’t kiss cheeks. You don’t see young amorous couples leaning against public monuments kissing with no cares in the world. Like they do in Europe. Hot damn, the Europeans know all about the kissing.

I ♥ Tiffany & Co.

FOR THE LOVE OF TIFFANY & CO.

Guilty pleasures. A bit indulgent and materialistic, I know, I know. Oh honey, I’m a Capricorn…and I like fine things. Not all of the time, but once in a while. I don’t expect it, but it doesn’t hurt. My go-to delight? Tiffany & Co. I admit it. My eyes light up and go all gooey when presented with the classic tiffany-blue box with the white satin ribbon. I melt. I die. I *squee*. I *jumpy clap*. And my certain someone can do no wrong in my induced Tiffany & Co. coma.

♡ love and intimacy

(credit) you are always in my heart | Ein Ber Bitte @ etsy

Love and intimacy are at the root of what makes us sick and what makes us well, what causes sadness and what brings happiness, what makes us suffer and what leads to healing…I am not aware of any other factor in medicine — not diet, not smoking, not exercise, not stress, not genetics, not drugs, not surgery — that has a greater impact on our quality of life, incidence of illness and premature death from all causes.

– Dr. Dean Ornish, M.D.* (Clinical Professor of Medicine)

* For over 30 years, Dr. Ornish has directed clinical research demonstrating, for the first time, that comprehensive lifestyle changes may begin to reverse even severe coronary heart disease, without drugs or surgery.
