BE MORE AWESOME THAN LAST YEAR
That’s right. 2012 is a great year, a great beginning. I say bye byes to 2011 and helloooo 2012. How I grew in 2011 — lessons learn….ing, thankyouverymuch. I’m very optimistic about 2012…as soon as the fireworks popped, popped, popped at midnight I felt invigorated by good juju for 2012. You? Yes, yes!
2011 was the Year of the Metal Rabbit and usually rabbit years are known to be quite calm…well, the metal (armour!) rabbit came on with a force and a vengeance – it was surely not a calm year. Look at the news headlines for last year (Arab Spring, anyone?).
January 23, 2012 will bring the “official” Lunar New Year and the Year of the Black Water Dragon. However, in Japan the new year begins on January 1st, just as the western calendar dictates, so I already assume it’s a Black Water Dragon year. The black water dragon is a harbinger of sweeping change for those with earth, water, or wood elements (My Capricorn-ness is a earth element), so I feel all the way down to my toes that 2012 will be full of good luck and good juju and a cumulation of good tidings honed from years of hard work, patience, and perseverence.
Be bold, it’s a dragon year! Funny enough, that’s how I would describe the good juju — I felt imbued with a boldness when I awoke in 2012. I also opened up all the windows to let out 2011, and bring in 2012…and smudged away 2011 and thanked 2011 for all its goodness and challenges. But that’s it, once 2012 rolled around, the past is the past. Onwards and forwards!
A Dragon Year brings much happiness, but by way of big ups and downs. I suppose it’s because you can’t appreciate the big ups if you can’t compare it to the experiences of going through big downs? By the way, it is a good birth year too — lucky to have a baby born a dragon. Lastly, dragons are karmic creatures, which means if you give out positivity, optimism, and love, then it will all be returned back to you.
So…be positive, optimistic, and give out loads of love, love, love. Basically, be more awesome than last year!
