I LOVE BREAKFAST
It’s my favourite meal of the day. I deliberately wake up early to savour my breakfast, not having to rush around. A cold-brewed coffee. A room-temperature bottle of water. And either a green smoothie or a proper breakfast.
On the weekdays, I have a hearty green smoothie for breakfast (en route to work). Refresher here and here. I visited a nutritionist early in the year and she rebooted my smoothie recipe so I’ll be satiated and full until lunch time. And sure enough, no rumblings or cravings between 8:00 am to noon. I know, awesome, right?
What’s in my green smoothie now: baby kale + banana + 0% fat plain Greek yogurt + silken tofu + chia seeds + oat bran + berries + greens powder.
WEEKEND AT HOME
My favourite breakfast ever is crazy simple but sooooo good.
1 egg (free range organic) + 1/3 cup egg whites, scrambled in coconut oil until a little firm but a little runny. Fish Sauce for salt. Fresh ground black pepper. Lots and lots of chopped green onions. Eaten with two toasted Little Big Breads. Bowl of berries or fruit. Coffee. Green tea. Conversation. News.
I could and am eating this almost every weekend.
But sometimes it’s crunchy french toast with agave and berries. Or a really gooey grilled cheese (a little bit of mango chutney inside + grilled with mayo smeared on the bread rather than butter — this makes it crunchy like restaurant-styles).
